Changes in Associative Strength (s, T, and u) with the Rescorla-Wagner Model

Conclusions As of Now

Statistical Expectations:

  • Conventional statistical models might anticipate a variance in responses based on individual differences in tolerance or sensitivity.
  • Statistical analysis could explore the correlation between the salience of the revelation, the prediction error, and the subsequent behaviour.

Psychological Insights:

  • Psychologically, individuals with higher tolerance may exhibit a more gradual adjustment of their associative strength, reflected in a continued conversation.
  • Those with higher sensitivity may show a more abrupt change, leading to an immediate cessation of the conversation.

Holomorphic Nature:

  • The Rescorla-Wagner model’s holomorphic-like updating process aligns with the continuous and differentiable nature of cognitive adjustments to unexpected events.
  1. Isomorphic Relationship:
  • The systematic relationship between the stimulus and reaction, as dictated by the Rescorla-Wagner model, supports an isomorphic correspondence between the two.
